Job summary

Connections Academy is seeking certified Substitute Counselors to support students remotely from a home office. You will consult with students, Learning Coaches and school staff to ensure each child progresses through their instructional program using phone, Internet and LMS tools.

The average assignment runs 8–12 weeks within 2–20 weeks, and this is a part-time position with no benefits. Work hours are typically 8:00 am–4:00 pm in the school’s time zone, Monday through Friday, with a reliable

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher
• Active state counseling certification (or ability to obtain)
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently in a home-office environment
• Experience with learning management systems and common software tools

Responsibilities

• Be online and available Monday through Friday 8:00 am–4:00 pm in the school’s time zone
• Develop and update individualized learning plans with students and Learning Coaches
• Review transcripts to determine course placements per school requirements
• Support student social-emotional learning through sessions
• Complete grading, generate progress reports, and conduct conferences
• Provide instructional support with synchronous and asynchronous web sessions
• Maintain up-to-date student records and data
• Attend monthly supervision via video conferencing
• Complete required professional learning and maintain certifications
