Olsson is seeking a Substation Engineering Group Leader to guide a team delivering utility substation projects. You will develop people, expand client relationships, and shape the growth of Olsson's utility substation practice.

You will lead through leaders, manage workforce planning, and partner with market and technical leaders to achieve strategic goals. This remote role offers a clear path to impact and career development.

Qualifications

Minimum 8+ years in substation engineering.
Minimum 4+ years leading teams in engineering consulting, utilities or infrastructure.
Proven ability to lead through leaders (PMs, supervisors, tech managers).
Strong business acumen: winning work, staffing, financial performance.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Experience expanding client relationships and growth initiatives.

Responsibilities

Lead, grow, and develop a team delivering substation projects for utility clients.
Coach team leads and senior engineers; manage cross-functional collaboration.
Set strategies with market, operations, and technical leaders to enable growth.
Drive recruiting, workforce planning, and employee development initiatives.
Maintain accountability, safety, and continuous improvement culture.
Strengthen long-term relationships with IOUs, Municipal Utilities, and Cooperatives.
Support business development and client account growth.
Oversee workload forecasting, resource management, and financial performance.
Ensure delivery quality, schedule, and client satisfaction.
