Job summary

Commonwealth's Substation Civil/Structural team seeks a Senior Civil Structural Engineer to lead design and analysis for substation projects from concept through completion. You will coordinate with clients, project managers, engineers, and designers to ensure quality, schedule, and budget compliance.

The ideal candidate has a Civil Engineering degree (ABET-accredited), a PE license, and 3–9 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited) is required.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• 3–9 years of civil/structural engineering experience, preferably in substations/utilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil/structural design and analysis for substation projects from kickoff through final deliverables.
• Act as technical lead and coordinate civil/structural activities with clients and internal teams.
• Develop project scopes, engineering cost estimates, and technical information for proposals.
• Manage assigned activities to meet budget, schedule, quality and client requirements.
• Perform and/or check civil and structural calculations, designs, drawings, and specifications.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and designers.
