Winston-Salem Comprehensive Treatment Center, part of Acadia Healthcare, seeks a Substance Use Counselor for a remote role serving North Carolina. The position supports MAT treatment with individual and group counseling, documented plans, and coordination with referral sources.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred in social or health services.
• Degree from an accredited college or university with practicum to be licensed.
• Experience in addiction recovery or behavioral health settings.
• Familiarity with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT).
• Experience conducting individual and group counseling sessions.
• Knowledge of CBT, MI, and relapse prevention techniques.
• Documentation experience with clinical notes and treatment plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality, compassionate guidance in individual and group counseling sessions.
• Plan, oversee, facilitate and document patient recovery.
• Co-facilitate assigned group or family sessions as needed.
• Ensure all documentation regarding patient care is completed timely and clearly.
• Prepare individual treatment plans for each patient.
• Conduct initial and follow-up assessments.
• Evaluate patient needs and referrals to other programs.
• May plan for aftercare for assigned patients.
• Provide crisis intervention to patients as needed.
• Perform case management duties ensuring individualized care.
• Act as liaison between referral sources and patients.

Education
