Job summary

Asheboro Comprehensive Treatment Center in Asheboro, NC, seeks a Substance Use Counselor to support patients with opioid use disorder through individual and group counseling, treatment planning, and coordinated care with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; preferred further education.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in social/health services with practicum for licensure.
• Experience in addiction recovery or behavioral health settings (outpatient, residential, or correctional).
• Familiarity with MAT including methadone, buprenorphine, naltrexone.
• Experience conducting individual and group counseling focused on recovery.
• Knowledge of CBT, MI and relapse prevention techniques.
• Documentation experience per state and federal guidelines.
• Familiarity with 42 CFR Part 2, HIPAA and Joint Commission standards.
• Experience collaborating in a multidisciplinary medical team.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality, compassionate guidance in individual and group sessions.
• Plan, oversee, facilitate and document patient recovery and treatment plans.
• Co-facilitate group or family sessions as needed.
• Ensure timely, clear documentation of care and incidents.
• Prepare individualized treatment plans for each patient.
• Conduct initial and follow-up assessments.
• Evaluate needs and refer to other programs when needed.
• Plan for aftercare for assigned patients as appropriate.
• Provide crisis intervention and case management as needed.
• Act as liaison between referral sources and patients.
