Job summary

The California Energy Commission is seeking a Student Assistant to support the Office of Compliance Assistance and Enforcement with administrative and engineering-related tasks. This is a part-time, non-benefited, off-campus position based in California.

Eligibility requires enrollment in college, a minimum 2.0 GPA, and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Flexible hours and remote work options apply.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled as a student.
• Minimum 2.0 GPA or above required.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to work 24 h/week during the academic year and up to 40 h/week during breaks.
• Comfortable learning Zoom and Microsoft Teams.

Responsibilities

• Organize and maintain enforcement case files.
• Create presentations and coordinate meetings.
• Perform market research to find enforcement leads.
• Sort and filter data sets to identify outliers.
• Perform calculations and data entry as needed.
• Review appliance regulations and test reports for accuracy.
• Assist investigators and management as needed.
