Job summary

The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) seeks a dependable student assistant for the Communications Division High-Cost Support and Surcharge Unit. This part-time, non-benefited position involves assisting telecommunications carriers with compliance and performing research on regulations.

Graduate students are preferred, but qualified undergraduates are encouraged to apply. Employment is hybrid, with a schedule from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, and may include telework options.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist with general inquiry inbox management and route inquiries to appropriate staff.
• Support program coordination: process new accounts, login inquiries, and contact updates.
• Conduct research and data analysis on telecommunications regulations and related policy issues.
• Engage in continuous improvement projects and assist in meetings to present findings.
