Job summary

Salas O’Brien is seeking a Project Engineer for remote work in the United States. The role supports project execution across diverse industries, with emphasis on accurate structural calculations, drafting direction, and collaboration with technical leads.

The candidate will engage in sprint planning, task estimation, and proactive communication to keep projects on track while maintaining QA standards. A BS/MS in structural engineering is required with 3+ years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum a Bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering or related field.
• MS degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in the structural design of concrete, steel, masonry, and wood frame structures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare structural calculations and construction documents that meet quality standards.
• Design lateral and gravity systems and provide modelling and drafting direction.
• QC own work and present high-level options to technical lead.
• Create and execute sprint plans, document tasks and estimate hours, communicate progress.
• Maintain CA log, respond to RFIs, review shop drawings, and manage scope creep.
• Coordinate client meetings and drawings with staff, and communicate updates.
• Participate in continuous improvement through education and standards updates.
