Job summary

NV5 is seeking a Structural Engineer (Substation) for remote US work. You will design structural elements for new and ongoing substation projects and support multiple assignments under a lead engineer or project manager.

You will analyze steel structures, foundations, and anchorage, and collaborate with engineers, designers, and drafters to deliver high-quality deliverables on time. Proficiency in RISA, Mathcad, AutoCAD, and related tools is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Preferred).
• EIT Certificate (Preferred).
• 2+ years of structural design engineering experience within substation, transmission, bridges, or buildings design.
• Experience with at least one of the following: RISA, MathCAD, and/or PLS software suite.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teams of engineers, designers, and drafters to complete project deliverables.
• Coordinate design work with other engineering disciplines.
• Meet client expectations for budget and schedule while delivering a quality product.
• Increase proficiency in RISA, MathCAD, LPile, AutoCAD, FAD Tools, and PLS software.
• Increase knowledge of local codes and industry standards.
• Assist with budget estimates and write-ups for proposals.
