Job summary
A multidisciplinary engineering firm is seeking a highly organized Structural Engineer to join their team. This remote position involves designing and analyzing structural systems across various projects while collaborating with architects. Preferred candidates will have experience in heavy snow loads and seismic conditions, along with licensure in Alaska. A Bachelor's or Master's in Civil Engineering and proficiency with structural software is required. Full-time employment with benefits is available.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a licensed engineer, with 10 years preferred.
- Experience with colder climates and high wind/snow loads is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct independent engineering work, applying professional judgment.
- Develop and adapt drawings, specifications, calculations, charts, and graphs.
- Perform structural design and analysis using governing codes and standards.
- Collaborate with architects and designers to integrate structural solutions.
- Review shop drawings and ensure compliance with codes.
- Conduct occasional site visits as required.
Skills
Proficiency with structural design software
Strong knowledge of structural codes
Experience with CAD software
Education
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering
