Job summary

Valmont Industries is seeking an engineer to design steel utility structures for transmission and distribution. The role involves handling quotes and orders, coordinating with drafting and sales, and ensuring designs meet customer specs and manufacturability.

Responsibilities include reviewing drawings, applying codes, and supporting project milestones while guiding junior staff. A Bachelor’s in engineering and EIT certification are required; Master’s is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering with 2–5+ years of design experience.
• EIT certification is required; PE license preferred or willing to obtain.
• Proficiency in structural design concepts and 3D CAD software (AutoCAD).

Responsibilities

• Design steel utility structures (transmission and distribution) and prepare data for quotes and orders.
• Coordinate with drafting and sales teams to meet project milestones.
• Review shop drawings and verify designs against specifications and codes.
• Support project teams and provide technical guidance to junior staff.
