Job summary

Uptalent.io is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to support a U.S. structural engineering firm specializing in residential projects in California. This remote opportunity requires wood-frame design experience, Tekla Tedds and Revit proficiency, and the ability to deliver projects with minimal supervision.

You will develop structural calculations and drawings, coordinate with the project team in English, and take responsibility for the accuracy and timely delivery of your work.

Qualifications

• Requires advanced English communication skills.
• Experience with wood-framed residential design in California.
• Knowledge of California building codes and seismic design requirements.
• Strong proficiency in Tekla Tedds for structural calculations.
• Strong proficiency in Revit for modelling and documentation.
• Proficiency in Excel for engineering calculations.

Responsibilities

• Develop structural designs for wood-framed residential projects in California (new homes, additions, renovations).
• Prepare structural calculations using Tekla Tedds and Excel spreadsheets.
• Produce and coordinate structural models, drawings, and details in Revit.
• Design framing members, connections, foundations, and lateral systems.
• Apply California Building Codes and seismic design requirements.
• Coordinate with architects/engineers to resolve design questions and incorporate revisions.
• Address plan review comments and ensure consistency between calculations and drawings.
• Manage projects with minimal supervision and communicate progress to meet deadlines.
