Job summary

Frontdoor, Inc. is seeking a Structural Civil Engineer for a fully remote position in the United States.

You will handle risk management and technical underwriting of structural warranty enrollments and provide technical support in claims adjudication in collaboration with internal and external engineers. You will review geotechnical reports, foundation plans, and inspections; perform tilt/deflection analysis with our software; and prepare coverage reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required from a four-year college or university.
• 5+ years of professional experience required.
• Technical knowledge about construction materials including soils, reinforced concrete, steel, and lumber.

Responsibilities

• Review geotechnical investigation reports and summarize key findings.
• Review forensic distress inventory reports and discuss findings with the engineer.
• Review structural foundation plans and summarize key design features.
• Review home inspections and discuss significant concerns with the inspector.
• Conduct foundation tilt and deflection analysis using proprietary software.
• Write technical coverage reports describing structural distress findings.
• Review repair contractor bids and assess value engineering opportunities.
• Conduct geologic hazard research and present results.
• Communicate with stakeholders including peers, claims adjusters, inspectors, engineers, and builders.
• May perform occasional residential inspections in the local market.
