Job summary

Northeastern Supply in Baltimore, MD, seeks a Purchasing/Procurement Manager to oversee purchasing across 38 branches and central distribution. You will manage vendor relationships, PO flow, inventory replenishment, cost control, and rebate programs to ensure product availability, competitive costs, and efficient inventory levels.

This full-time, remote-friendly role reports to the President, with travel up to 25% and benefits eligibility after 45 days. 5+ years of experience required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in purchasing or supply chain within wholesale or industrial distribution.
• Experience negotiating vendor contracts and pricing programs.
• Proficient with ERP systems and Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
• Strong inventory management knowledge: reorder points, safety stock, lead time.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Admin, or related field preferred.
• CPSM/CPP or equivalent a plus.

Responsibilities

• Issue and manage purchase orders across product categories to meet demand.
• Monitor orders, expedite critical items, and resolve supplier issues.
• Maintain item costs, lead times, and min order quantities in ERP.
• Coordinate inbound shipments with distribution center.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, rebates, and co-op with suppliers.
• Track supplier performance and address issues.
• Onboard new suppliers to support expansion or redundancy.
• Manage replenishment, forecasting, safety stock, reorder points.
• Conduct regular inventory accuracy reviews and cycle counts.
• Prepare purchasing and inventory KPI reports.
