Job summary

UPSIDE Foods is seeking an AI Residency fellow to collaborate with the Enterprise Intelligence team, framing strategic questions and conducting rigorous desk and practitioner research. You will synthesize evidence, test claims with experts, and present recommendations to executives throughout a 12-week, two-phase residency.

Qualifications

• Strong ownership instincts and ability to drive a mandate forward.
• MBA, consulting, or hands-on experience in commercial/financial reasoning.
• Fluent with AI tools for research and analysis (Claude, Gemini, NotebookLM).
• Clear writer who substantiates claims with evidence.
• Curiosity about biotech and AI business landscape.
• Confidential handling of sensitive information.
• Able to commit 20+ hours per week for 12 weeks and travel to Bay Area as needed.
• MBA/strategy consultant background or PhD/MA in biology/AI is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Frame strategic questions and build a research plan you own end to end.
• Use AI tools to conduct desk research and synthesize findings for decision-ready outputs.
• Speak with industry practitioners to test findings.
• Back claims with external evidence and verify capabilities with SMEs.
• Draft and present recommendations to executive leadership at milestones.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Intelligence and scientists to turn findings into usable materials.
• Commit to 20–40 hrs/week for 12 weeks and be available during US business hours.
