System One is seeking a Storage Engineer – Architect for a contract-to-hire role in Washington, DC. The candidate will design, implement, and operate secure, scalable cloud and storage infrastructure for SEC-related enterprise applications and services, with a focus on high availability and security.

The position involves migration and modernization projects, leadership of SAN/NAS and storage virtualization, and collaboration across teams to enforce best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and operate secure, scalable cloud and storage infrastructure for enterprise applications and services.
• Support migration and modernization initiatives with high availability, security, and resilience.
• Lead architecture and management of enterprise SAN/NAS and storage virtualization for mission-critical systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain infrastructure, automation, and security best practices.
• Engineer identity and access controls using Microsoft Entra Identity, RBAC, conditional access, and least-privilege models.
• Develop automation using PowerShell, Bicep, ARM templates, and Terraform to provision and manage infrastructure at scale.
• Lead complex storage projects including migrations, upgrades, and cloud integration.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and cross-functional teams.
• Ensure compliance with FISMA, FedRAMP, SEC, and related security and governance standards.
