Mercor seeks a Stochastic Biophysics Physicist (PhD) for a remote, contract engagement. You will evaluate research-level problems in stochastic autocatalytic growth and reaction-network dynamics, using advanced methods and publications to verify results.

The role requires a PhD in biophysics, statistics, or applied mathematics, strong Python/LaTeX skills, and first-author papers. You will work independently with flexible hours over 8–10 weeks, at about 10 hours per week.

Formación

• PhD in biophysics, statistical physics, applied mathematics, or related field.
• First-author papers; verifiable publication record.
• Proficiency with LaTeX, Python, SymPy, and Jupyter.
• English at B2 or above, including written reasoning.

Responsabilidades

• Evaluate research-level physics problems in stochastic autocatalytic growth and related areas.
• Develop and solve complex problems using chemical master equation, branching processes, and other advanced methods.
• Review and audit completed work for accuracy and completeness in reaction-network dynamics.
• Collaborate with specialists to ensure independent verification of written reasoning.
• Work independently and asynchronously to meet deadlines without fixed hours.
