Job summary

HunaTek Government Solutions, on behalf of the Office of Naval Research (ONR), seeks a Project/Outreach Coordinator to support STEM outreach initiatives in Herndon, VA with remote options.

The role focuses on planning events, coordinating across departments, and communicating DON STEM opportunities to students and families, requiring strong writing and social media skills and a SECRET clearance or ability to obtain one.

Qualifications

• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or related field.
• 3+ years in outreach, customer service, or related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications: Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint Online, Teams, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and manage STEM outreach events including career fairs, student competitions, family STEM events, and naval air shows.
• Serve as the primary point-of-contact for communicating DON STEM opportunities to students and families.
• Coordinate with naval sites across the Department of the Navy to ensure smooth execution of outreach activities.
• Manage ordering, delivery, and distribution of outreach materials including program flyers, promotional items, banners, and student engagement supplies.
• Develop and implement social media strategies to enhance community engagement and promote STEM initiatives.
