Job summary

State of Wisconsin’s Department of Public Instruction seeks an Educator Preparation Consultant to lead statewide efforts in implementing PI 34, overseeing program approval, licensure, and professional development for educator preparation programs across the state.

You will coordinate with higher education, PK-12 partners, and stakeholders to ensure compliance and improve educator preparation outcomes, including policy guidance and program evaluation.

Qualifications

  • Experience working within an educator preparation program (IHE or non-IHE) responsible for educator preparation, instructional leadership, or related initiatives.
  • Experience working with PK-12 education systems in educator development, curriculum, instructional leadership, or related initiatives that support educator effectiveness.
  • Experience interpreting and implementing education-related statutes/administrative rules, accreditation standards, educator licensure requirements, or other regulatory education requirements.
  • Experience providing technical assistance, consultation, professional development, or training to educators, institutions of higher education, or educational organizations.
  • Experience using data (assessment, program evaluation, or other relevant data) to review, evaluate, develop, or improve an educational program.

Responsibilities

  • Provide statewide leadership and coordination for the review, evaluation, approval, and continuous improvement of performance-based educator preparation programs, including program development and revisions, onsite reviews, testing requirements, and compliance with PI 34 standards.
  • Lead statewide professional development initiatives related to PI 34, including developing and evaluating staff development programs, delivering training and technical assistance, conducting research, and communicating requirements and findings to educator preparation programs and other stakeholders.
  • Provide consultation and policy guidance on educator preparation and licensure requirements, conduct research and develop recommendations, and represent the department in statewide initiatives, conferences, and other activities related to PI 34 implementation.
