Job summary

The Illinois State Board of Education is seeking an Educator Preparation and Licensure Principal Consultant (position #390) in Springfield to lead initiatives within the Educator Effectiveness department. The role focuses on preparing educator preparation providers to produce qualified teachers and educators, and overseeing IEPP development, aligning with state standards.

The position works with colleges and universities, manages projects, analyzes data, and supports licensure questions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus two years of relevant experience.
• Two years of PK-12 or higher education experience.
• Experience using data to drive decisions.
• Knowledge of the culture and operation of higher education institutions.

Responsibilities

• Leads and serves as a team member for department projects and initiatives related to educator preparation and licensure.
• Provides quality project management, plans and leads meetings, and analyzes data to make informed decisions on work products.
• Oversees department grants and contracts, including awarding, monitoring, reporting, and communicating with grantees and contractors.
• Provides exemplary service and technical assistance to stakeholders via written, telephone, electronic, and personal communication.
• Conducts audits, develops trainings, creates/reviews/edits documents, and represents the Agency and department at events and meetings.
• Analyzes applications for licenses, endorsements, and approvals based upon evidence submitted.
• Authorizes issuance or notifies applicant of specific deficiencies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
