State of North Carolina's Office of State Fire Marshal seeks a Code Official II / State Fire Prevention Inspector. The role performs inspections of state-owned buildings for compliance with the NC Fire Prevention Code and NFPA standards, identifies life-safety hazards, and prepares detailed reports.

The position may involve training duties, disaster-related inspections, and serves on the State Emergency Response Team (SERT) with on-call responsibilities.

Formación

• NC Certification as Fire Inspector III.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience performing fire prevention inspections on government owned buildings.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience performing inspections for pyrotechnics.

Responsabilidades

• Perform annual and special inspections of state owned buildings and equipment.
• Report fire code deficiencies and coordinate corrective actions.
• Conduct inspections during emergencies and after hours as needed to ensure public safety.
• Schedule and inspect pyrotechnic displays on state property.
• Prepare inspection reports for OSFM documentation and insurance review.
• Provide educational materials and represent OSFM at conferences.
• Conduct fire investigations with OSFM Fire Investigation Unit and partner agencies.
• Participate in SERT deployments and assist with emergency operations.
