Job summary

Optomi (in partnership with a late-stage technology startup) is seeking two Staff Software Engineers to build and scale cloud-based rental-tech platforms. The role emphasizes architectural leadership, hands-on coding, and mentoring as you drive scalable solutions in AWS and modern web tech.

You will partner with Engineering and Product to deliver complex features, mentor engineers, and champion AI-driven practices across distributed teams, with mobility to travel for in-person collaboration.

Qualifications

• Extensive expertise in React, TypeScript, Next.js, or Nest.js.
• Strong experience with AWS core services (Lambda, API Gateway, S3, RDS, CloudFront).
• Strong SQL skills; experience with ORMs Prisma or TypeORM.
• Experience building AI-enabled solutions (LLMs, RAG, or agentic workflows).
• Proven leadership and mentoring abilities for cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Technical leadership: serve as the technical anchor for cross-functional teams.
• External liaison: troubleshoot complex issues with client engineering teams.
• Strategic planning: break down large initiatives into milestones.
• AI-centric: explore and build AI-driven engineering solutions.
• Architect: design scalable, secure AWS-based environments.
