Job summary

KLDiscovery is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to provide architectural judgment across product areas, mentor developers, and enforce engineering standards. This role is remote in the United States and connects Engineering leadership, Architecture, and delivery teams.

You will identify risks early, drive design decisions, and help translate architecture into actionable work while maintaining security and quality across multiple modules.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building and maintaining multi-product web applications across product areas.
• Strong Angular and .NET (C#) skills with API design experience.
• Ability to identify and mitigate technical risk across codebases or product areas.
• Ability to communicate architecture decisions clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience designing secure solutions for environments handling sensitive client data.

Responsibilities

• Identify and raise risks across multiple modules, including security risks and downstream platform impacts, before they reach production.
• Provide architectural guidance across multiple product areas and make cross-module design decisions.
• Work with Team Leadership and Architects to translate architecture decisions into actionable work for the Engineering team.
• Write and refine requirements for features in collaboration with Product and Team Leadership.
• Mentor engineers and elevate a team's overall output.
• Drive automated testing practices and improve build and release pipelines.
• Support production applications including bug fixes and enhancements within defined SLAs.
