Job summary

RealPage is seeking a Staff Engineer to own and evolve a financial data integration and ML classification platform that processes hundreds of real estate reports. You’ll lead two critical systems: a document parsing engine and a dynamic orchestration platform, building ML models, pipelines, and database schemas.

Mentorship of one direct report is expected. You’ll work across model development, ETL, and API integration, shaping technical direction while delivering production-ready solutions for

Qualifications

• 5+ years Python development with production ML systems.
• NLP / text classification with transformer models (Hugging Face, TensorFlow).
• Proficiency with pandas, NumPy, SQLAlchemy, and PostgreSQL.
• Experience building ETL pipelines for messy semi-structured data (Excel, CSV) at scale.
• Familiarity with ML model serving platforms (Wallaroo, SageMaker, Vertex AI) including OAuth2-based APIs.
• Comfort leading technically — triaging bugs, shipping features, architectural decisions.
• Experience across full data platform stack from ingestion to API integration.

Responsibilities

• ML Model Development & Deployment — build, train, and deploy classification models and extend QA models.
• Pipeline Platform — maintain/configure orchestration to match files to pipelines and output standardized data.
• ETL Engine — evolve parsing for complex Excel workbooks with varied formats.
• Data Quality & Reliability — improve accuracy, audit logging, and integrity across clients.
• Architecture & Technical Leadership — guide model serving, DB schema design, and API integration; mentor a direct report.
