Job summary

AlphaSense, Inc. invites an experienced Staff Platform Engineer to shape our Core Cloud Platform. You will own and evolve our Kubernetes-based platform, collaborating with senior engineers across teams to drive scalable, secure infrastructure and AI-enabled tooling.

This remote role in the United States requires deep Kubernetes expertise, strong cloud experience, and a drive to lead architectural roadmaps that support AlphaSense’s rapid growth and service reliability for thousands of users.

Qualifications

Extensive experience with Kubernetes and containerisation on AWS.
Proven track record running Kubernetes/Cloud SaaS at scale.
Strong networking and production use of service meshes and gateways.
Operational troubleshooting across Kubernetes, databases, messaging systems, and storage.
Proficient in Python and Go for infra tooling, operators, or control planes.
Advocate for high-performance CI/CD supporting agentic workflows.
Ability to design and lead ambitious technical roadmaps.
Nice to have: manage large fleets with lifecycle tools (CAPI, Rancher).
Nice to have: Vault or secret management systems.
Nice to have: GCP and Azure knowledge.

Responsibilities

Own, operate and evolve our Cloud and Kubernetes based Platform.
Improve security, reliability, cost efficiency and performance of our infrastructure.
Champion standards to promote uniformisation and remove duplication.
Collaborate with Product teams to enable services and empower them to own their services.
Work with other Platform teams to create a coherent Platform.
Enable self-service and agentic workflow patterns that support a Build it - Own it model.
Build tooling and AI powered integrations to reduce cognitive load in operations.
Provide support for a globally distributed Engineering organisation.
Architect, design and implement simple and maintainable solutions.
