Job summary

CloudLinux is a global remote first company delivering Linux infrastructure and security products. The Staff Engineer for Imunify360 will drive technical alignment, own end-to-end architecture, and contribute 30 to 50 percent of production code.

The role requires 10+ years in production software with 3+ years in staff roles, strong Python experience and Go or Rust, and deep Linux internals knowledge. Expect to mentor engineers and influence cross-squad architecture decisions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years building and operating production software.
• 3+ years in staff or principal roles across multiple teams.
• Strong production experience in Python and in Go or Rust.
• Deep Linux internals knowledge including processes, filesystems, networking, kernel interfaces, packaging, and systemd.
• Track record designing and running distributed systems at scale with asynchronous backends, queues, databases, caching, and failure modes.
• Security mindset with threat modeling and secure coding practices.

Responsibilities

• Own end to end architecture of Imunify360 across agent, server, and cloud backends.
• Write ADRs, RFCs, and lead cross-squad architecture syncs with the Technical Director.
• Maintain living tech debt and risk registers with owners and roadmapped funding.
• Address hard cross cutting problems such as resource budgets, detection pipeline quality, and upgrade safety across a diverse fleet.
• Promote engineering standards in design reviews, testing strategy, observability, and secure SDLC.
• Mentor senior engineers and participate in hiring for senior roles.
