Job summary

Amperon is hiring a Staff Cloud Platform Engineer to own major parts of the Azure and Kubernetes platform powering our product, data pipelines, and AI agents. You will join the Infrastructure & Security team and report to the Director of Infrastructure & Security.

This senior IC role sets technical direction and leads multi-month programs. You will collaborate across infrastructure, site reliability and security, ensuring scalable, auditable environments and reliable data operations with a focus

Qualifications

• 8+ years in infrastructure, platform or SRE, including senior ownership.
• Led multi-month infra programs end to end: design, rollout, cutover and cleanup.
• Hands-on Kubernetes in production (AKS, EKS or GKE).
• Strong Terraform skills with GitOps workflows (Atlantis, ArgoCD or similar).
• Production cloud experience; Azure preferred; AWS/GCP also acceptable.
• Experience with relational/analytical DBs (MySQL, PostgreSQL, ClickHouse).
• Security built into practices: least privilege, identity-based access, secrets management.
• Observability with metrics/logs/traces (OpenTelemetry); reliable alerting.
• Proficient in Python and shell scripting for automation.
• Clear written communication across time zones.

Responsibilities

• Shape and evolve our Kubernetes platform across AKS clusters.
• Lead infrastructure-as-code at scale; drive Terraform estate and Atlantis integration.
• Manage data stores with replication, backup, and safe upgrades.
• Design isolated, auditable environments for AI agents and MCP services.
• Improve observability with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana and alerting in code.
• Own cloud cost optimization and Azure savings initiatives.
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident response with blameless postmortems.
• Mentor engineers, review designs, and document architectures.
