Job summary
Swyft Legal is seeking a Staff Attorney to advance intellectual property work and streamline legal processes. You’ll advise clients on trademark registrability, conduct searches, and help file applications to increase accessibility to legal services.
Join a remote-friendly team with an office option in Houston. The ideal candidate has IP law experience, licenses in AZ or DC, and a proactive, ethical approach in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- License to practice law in Arizona or Washington DC
- 0-5 years of legal experience
- Experience in intellectual property law
- Passion for professional ethics
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to clearly explain legal concepts to non-attorneys and clients
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong computer skills
- A proactive, self-motivated mindset, with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment
- Patent bar license or license-eligible is a plus
Responsibilities
- Conduct and review trademark searches and provide strategic advice and risk analyses.
- Advise clients on the registrability and strength of their marks.
- File a high volume of trademark applications at the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.
- Respond to Office actions.
- Assist senior trademark attorneys with their caseloads.
- Increase access to the law by helping small businesses register trademarks and spend more time giving legal advice than powering through administrative minutiae.
- Contribute to Swyft Legal’s mission and help us strategically grow in our efforts to give more people access to legal services as we expand our services.

About You
We are seeking a talented Staff Attorney to join our firm. In this role, you’ll work closely with clients by providing strategic guidance and empowering them with the knowledge they need to make informed legal decisions. A successful applicant should have experience in intellectual property law and be passionate about using technology to reduce the cost so that more people can obtain the legal services they need to help them better their lives.
