SpotOn is seeking a Staff Android Software Engineer to lead the Android platform for our remote-first team. You will define architecture, mentor engineers, and drive cross-functional initiatives across product, design, and backend teams.

This role emphasizes offline-first data, high-scale reliability, and a hands-on coding leadership style. You will work on Kotlin/Java Android apps, CI/CD improvements, and complex hospitality workflows, with opportunities to shape engineering culture and deliver

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including Android at scale.
• Deep Kotlin experience with coroutines, Flow, and structured concurrency.
• Proven ability to design and evolve large multi-module Android apps.
• Strong understanding of Android patterns (MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture).
• Experience with offline-first data, synchronization, and real-time data flows.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the multi-year Android architectural roadmap with offline-first and real-time syncing capabilities.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives across squads to modularize codebase and improve data persistence and UI layers.
• Own reliability and performance for the hospitality Android suite in a high-availability environment.
• Mentor senior and mid-level engineers and elevate coding standards, testing, and documentation.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and leadership to align technical investments with business outcomes.
