Job summary

Dynata is seeking a bright and analytical Staff Accountant to join our Accounting team. The role focuses on timely and accurate financial data preparation across general, corporate, and financial reporting functions.

You will support month-end close, journal entries, variance analysis, and audits as an individual contributor, with opportunities to tackle ad hoc projects. The position offers a discretionary incentive program, competitive base pay, and comprehensive medical and other benefits for

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
• 5+ years of relevant accounting experience preferred.
• Pursuing CPA or other relevant certification a plus.
• Analytical ability to mine and collect data, as well as problem solving skills to gather and analyze information skillfully.
• Responds to inquiries quickly with professionalism and tact.
• Ability to organize, manage, prioritize, and handle numerous projects/tasks.
• Works well as an individual and as part of a team, willing and eager to help others and share knowledge and skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in all Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the month-end closing procedures.
• Reconcile and analyze general ledger accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
• Prepare and review journal entries, ensuring proper classification and accuracy.
• Partner with manager monthly to examine financial statements to ensure accurate reporting and determine ways to reduce costs and increase profitability.
• Conduct variance analysis and provide financial insights to management for decision‑making purposes.
• Maintain adequate internal control to safeguard the assets of the Company.
• Able to use rigorous logic and methods to solve problems with effective solutions.
• Provide support for interim and year-end audits, including financial statement preparation.
• Assist with ad hoc projects as they arise such as automation or system implementation.
