Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise Company seeks a Systems Analyst (Site Reliability Engineer) to support Oak Ridge National Labs with HPC infrastructure, ensuring reliability in a security-conscious environment.

On-site daily at ORNL with US citizenship and DOE Q-clearance (Top-Secret acceptable). You will deploy, maintain, and optimize large-scale compute clusters, collaborate with researchers, and develop automation to streamline operations.

Qualifications

• Experience with SLURM-based HPC systems.
• Proficiency in Linux, Python and Bash.
• Familiarity with C++/Fortran HPC applications, GPUs, MPI/OpenMP.
• Understanding of build processes and dependencies.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and optimize compute infrastructure across HPC systems.
• Deploy, test, and validate live HPC clusters.
• Troubleshoot node failures via OS internals, compiler behavior, and logs.
• Perform routine maintenance and performance tuning for HPC environments.
• Collaborate with researchers to manage tickets and ensure reliability.
• Document complex software and system issues for internal teams.
• Develop automation tools and monitoring solutions.
• Stay updated on HPC trends and optimization strategies.
