Job summary

Redwood Materials is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to replace legacy ERP and WMS with custom systems across North America’s largest battery recycler. You will own features end-to-end, write Python and React code, and design APIs and integrations that power a $3B+ operation.

This remote-first role requires strong Python and React experience, AWS deployment, and the ability to work with stakeholders; periodic travel to Nevada is expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years software engineering experience.
• Strong Python skills; production React experience.
• Experience building and shipping production applications on AWS.
• API design and integration patterns.
• Comfort working independently in a remote-first environment and making pragmatic technical decisions.
• Strong written communication: document decisions and communicate async effectively.
• Availability for periodic travel to Nevada (~1 week/quarter).

Responsibilities

• Own features end-to-end: design, build, test, deploy, and operate in production.
• Write clean, tested Python and React code and participate in code reviews.
• Design and build APIs and integrations between systems.
• Work with domain experts and stakeholders to understand business processes and turn them into working software.
• Contribute to technical design decisions.
• Navigate a fast-moving environment where requirements change often and ambiguity is normal; prioritize effectively.
• Debug and resolve production issues; monitor and improve system reliability.
• Collaborate remotely with team and stakeholders; periodic on-site travel (~1 week/quarter) for planning and stakeholder engagement.
