Job summary

ACCEL Schools seeks teachers for West Virginia to deliver rigorous, engaging instruction online with periodic in-person testing support. You will be the primary instructor across core subjects, using a 21st-century curriculum and live web conferences to promote achievement and social-emotional growth.

Responsibilities include LMS setup, monitoring progress, regular family communication, and collaboration with the Principal to report progress and adjust instructional plans.

Qualifications

• Current State teaching license in appropriate content area.
• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
• Preferred two years’ teaching experience.
• Comfort with growth-focused coaching including frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook).
• Ability to handle confidential information.
• Ability to stand for up to 90 minutes.
• Ability to supervise students in all school settings.
• Ability to pass federal and state background checks.
• Experience working in a multi-cultural setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the teacher of record and primary instructor in core content areas and grades.
• Meet goals for student achievement, culture, and state accountability.
• Deliver live lessons via web conference based on student needs.
• Complete course setup in the Learning Management System.
• Monitor progress in asynchronous courses and provide daily feedback.
• Maintain contact with each student and communicate with families.
• Collaborate with Principal to prepare progress reports of students.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs.
• Use best practices in synchronous and asynchronous instruction.
• Create a joyful, caring classroom environment and integrate culturally responsive teaching.
