Job summary

LILT is seeking talented linguists for its translation pool on a flexible, independent contractor basis. Work across Life Sciences, IT, Marketing, Legal, Finance, and more while translating content between English and your native language.

You will edit, refine, and localize material for various digital platforms, contributing to AI and language technology advancement. As a 1099 contractor, there are no fixed hours or benefits; projects vary by demand.

Qualifications

• Native-level proficiency in the target language(s).
• Graduate qualification in translation, linguistics, or language studies, OR
• Graduate qualification in another field plus 2 years of full-time translation experience, OR
• 5 years of full-time professional translation experience.
• Ability to follow terminology and reference materials precisely.

Responsibilities

• Translate content between English and target language while preserving nuance.
• Edit and refine language content for accuracy, tone, and context across platforms.
• Apply current language standards, usage trends, and best practices to deliverables.
• Evaluate and provide structured feedback to improve language model quality.
• Collaborate with Production and cross-functional teams to localize content for markets.
• Support content development, localization, and QA for digital tools and apps.
• If transcreation is needed, adapt the text creatively for natural reading in target language.
