Job summary

Fairview Health Services seeks a Spanish Spoken Language Healthcare Interpreter to join our team. This full-time role supports interpretation across care settings, offering flexible work locations per operational needs while ensuring HIPAA-compliant remote work requirements are met.

The position requires formal interpreter training and remote work setup, with MDH roster eligibility and both remote and onsite interpreting experience preferred. Join us to help ensure equitable access to care.

Qualifications

• 40 hours of formal interpreter training ( Bridging the Gap or similar ).
• 2 years remote healthcare interpreting or 1 year remote + 1 year onsite.
• Proof of appropriate work area setup in accord with RWH agreement.
• Minnesota Department of Health Spoken Language Interpreter Roster Upon Hire.

Responsibilities

• Interpret accurately and completely, conveying content and spirit with cultural awareness.
• Demonstrate understanding of basic healthcare terminology and anatomy.
• Use consecutive and simultaneous interpreting as appropriate.
• Manage set-up and flow of communication to promote autonomy.
• Facilitate intercultural communication and alert to disparities impacting outcomes.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to interpreter scope of practice.
