Job summary

Muon Space seeks a talented Spacecraft ADCS/GNC engineer to join our team. The role combines control-system analysis and design with embedded C++ implementation, requiring a systems mindset and cross‑disciplinary collaboration.

This position can be performed remotely from an approved location. The candidate will design GNC architectures, analyze performance, and support ground-processing and on-orbit anomaly resolution.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or equivalent plus 2–3 years of professional experience, OR extensive hands-on GNC experience.
• Software skills in C++ (embedded).
• Knowledge of control and optimization theory.
• Experience with common numerical environments (Python, MATLAB, Julia).
• Experience designing, analyzing, and implementing ADCS/GNC subsystems for spacecraft.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
• Fast-paced environment with new opportunities weekly.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement guidance, navigation & control architectures and algorithms in an embedded C++ environment.
• Define requirements for ADCS algorithms, hardware, and related systems for missions and roadmap development.
• Perform analysis and simulation of mission-specific GNC performance.
• Collaborate on ground-processing algorithms for sensor calibration.
• Collaborate on offline geolocation processing pipeline.
• Support anomaly resolution of on-orbit systems including on-call duties.
• Support software- and hardware-in-the-loop test planning, execution, and validation.
