Job summary

Hanwha Q CELLS America Inc. is seeking a Design Engineer for its Home Energy System Division to generate solar blueprints and validate scope through review and modeling adjustments.

The role is remote and demands rigorous analysis, attention to detail, and strong communication to ensure accurate project delivery. The ideal candidate has 5–8+ years in engineering with 3–5 years in solar design, proficiency in AutoCAD, and solid experience with NEC/CRC codes and permitting processes.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or related field with 5–8+ years in an engineering role, plus 3–5 years in solar design.
• Experience with AutoCAD and strong NEC/CRC code understanding.
• Ability to navigate permitting with local authorities and review design scope.

Responsibilities

• Create and submit drafting packages for third-party AutoCAD drafters.
• Become SME on Qcells home battery system and residential pairings.
• Perform quality reviews on design packages.
• Confirm scope of work and generate work orders for construction.
• Compare scope with signed agreements and ensure correct adders.
• Analyze data to identify common design failures and advise vendors.
