Job summary

Emmes Group, based in Rockville, MD, seeks a Software Test Engineer to join a mostly remote team that occasionally meets at the HQ. You will test enterprise informatics software supporting cancer trials, develop automated tests, and integrate them with CI/CD in a SCRUM environment.

You will work with Python, C#/.NET, JavaScript, and Ruby, verify cloud deployments (AWS/Azure/GCP), and mentor junior members while contributing to process improvements.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills (oral and written).
• Experience coding in Python, C#/.NET, Javascript, Ruby, or comparable languages.
• Experience testing hardware and software for enterprise and informatics systems in cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Develop and define quality characteristics and metrics.
• Experience in agile development (SCRUM/Kanban).
• Experience with Git, GitHub, and GitHub Actions.
• Experience with BDD testing (Cucumber/Behave).
• Experience with performance/load testing (K6, LoadRunner, JMeter, Artillery).
• 3 years of software testing experience.
• Bachelor or Graduate degree in a technical field.
• Knowledge of Section 508 accessibility testing.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and complete testing tasks on assigned projects.
• Develop test scenarios and procedures for scalable, reliable software.
• Write automated tests and integrate with CI/CD pipelines.
• Participate in SCRUM events and collaborate across teams.
• Move features through CI/CD in an Agile environment.
• Contribute to technical knowledge base for sharing.
