Job summary

MoneyGram is seeking a Software Engineer for Application Development in a remote-first environment. The role focuses on delivering quality software, refining architecture, and collaborating with product teams to shape cross-border payments solutions.

Mid level engineers will expand core technical skills, contribute to design and testing, and mentor peers while maintaining strong communication and ownership across the SDLC.

Qualifications

• Mid level software engineers focusing on mastery and core expertise.
• Own technical design documents and architectural patterns for work items.
• Communicate effectively with product and stakeholders to refine requirements.
• Follow team coding standards and SDLC practices.
• Mentor junior peers and contribute to code reviews and collaboration.
• Provide proactive progress updates and flag risks when needed.
• Show growth in estimation and adapt to changing scope.

Responsibilities

• Focus on consistent delivery, effective communication, and continuous improvement.
• Develop and own technical design documents and architecture decisions.
• Write automated tests (unit/integration) as standard practice.
• Mentor peers and participate in code reviews.
• Provide async and synchronous progress updates to team and stakeholders.
• Operate with autonomy in a remote environment and manage blockers.
