Job summary

Workiva is seeking a Software Engineer Intern to help build developer tools and product features on a rapid-release cycle. You will work in an agile environment with code reviews, unit tests, and guidance from a senior developer.

You'll contribute as either backend or frontend engineer, using TypeScript/JavaScript for frontend and Java for backend, with opportunities to learn Python/Go and web technologies while supporting Workiva Assistant and Global Search scalability.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program, preferably in Software Engineering or Computer Science.
• Strong interest in software development and learning new technologies.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement developer tools or product features under the direction of a senior developer.
• Contribute as backend or frontend engineer depending on project needs.
• Build frontend features using TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Develop backend services in Java to support scalability.
• Assist with building Workiva Assistant using TypeScript.
• Engage in Agile ceremonies and code reviews.
