Job summary

Humana Inc. seeks a mid-level Software Engineer 2 to design, develop, test, and maintain software applications supporting cybersecurity and identity access management initiatives.

You will work on both front-end and back-end components within an agile team to deliver secure, scalable solutions. The role emphasizes collaboration with engineers, leads, architects, and business partners, participating in all SDLC phases from requirements to deployment and ongoing support, in a fast-paced agile

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of software engineering, application development, or related experience.
• Experience developing both front-end and back-end applications.
• Experience with JavaScript and modern web development technologies.
• Experience working within Agile software development environments.
• Experience with software design, development, testing, and production support.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and services.
• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis through deployment and support.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deliver secure, scalable, and reliable solutions.
• Develop and support front-end and back-end application components.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues while ensuring optimal performance.
• Perform code reviews and follow established software engineering best practices and coding standards.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
• Support cybersecurity and identity access management initiatives through application development and enhancement efforts.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts that enhance quality, efficiency, and user experience.
