Job summary

CSG Systems, Inc. is seeking a Software Development Engineer II with 3–5 years of experience to join our dynamic team. The role involves designing, coding, and testing software, with guidance from senior developers, and collaboration across cross-functional teams.

The position emphasizes debugging, troubleshooting, and implementing solutions for mainframe-related modules. Knowledge of Java and Python is a plus, and Agile experience is beneficial for our fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 3–6 years of coding experience in Mainframe Assembler or TPF.
• Exposure to DB2/files concepts and technical problem solving.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies is an advantage.
• Java knowledge is an added advantage; COBOL/JCL are pluses.

Responsibilities

• Design, code, and test software applications for assigned work items under guidance from senior developers.
• Debug and fix software issues; support troubleshooting during development and testing.
• Analyze defined requirements and implement low-complexity technical solutions.
• Support mainframe assembler development activities.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and sprint activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to clarify requirements and communicate progress.
