Job summary

Alignerr is seeking Software Engineers in the Boston area to build, evaluate, and improve AI-generated code. This remote hourly contract role focuses on training AI systems to think like developers and to shape how AI understands and generates software.

You will work independently on a flexible schedule, reviewing AI outputs, debugging, and designing prompts to stress-test capabilities across multiple languages. Remote work, 10–40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proficient in one or more programming languages: Python, JavaScript, Java, C++, Go, or TypeScript.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.

Responsibilities

• Write, debug, and optimize code across languages, frameworks, and domains.
• Review and evaluate AI-generated code for correctness, efficiency, readability, and best practices.
• Identify bugs, logic errors, security issues, and performance bottlenecks in AI outputs.
• Provide structured, detailed feedback explaining why code works or not.
• Design challenging coding prompts and edge-case scenarios to stress-test AI capabilities.
• Compare and rank multiple AI-generated solutions based on engineering quality.
• Work independently and asynchronously—fully on your own schedule.
