Job summary

FlexEnergi is hiring a Software Engineer for DER Integration (IoT / Energy Systems) to build and scale integrations between DERMS and third‑party devices and APIs. You’ll work on backend development, distributed systems, and real‑world IoT challenges across cloud services and telemetry flows.

This role emphasizes ASP.NET APIs, Azure Functions, and containerized workloads, with collaboration across global teams. Remote work from the US is supported.

Qualifications

• 2–6 years of software engineering experience (backend-focused).
• Strong experience with .NET (C#), .NET 6+, and ideally .NET 9/10.
• Experience with distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
• Experience integrating with 3rd‑party APIs and webhooks.
• Familiarity with Azure or another major cloud platform.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain integrations between DERMS and third‑party devices, platforms, and grid standards
• Develop services using ASP.NET APIs, Console Workers, and Azure Functions
• Build integrations with OEM APIs (thermostats, batteries, EV chargers, BMS systems, etc.)
• Work with Azure Service Bus, Event Hub, Streaming Analytics, and containerized workloads
• Collaborate with global teams across product, engineering, and operations
• Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to reliability and observability
