Job summary

Canonical is hiring a Software Engineer for Ceph & Distributed Storage. This remote role supports OpenStack, Ceph, and Kubernetes, with travel a few times a year. Based in EMEA or the Americas, you’ll work with a globally distributed team to scale storage technologies and open source platforms.

Ideal candidates have a CS/ STEM degree, strong Python experience, Ceph storage expertise, and a passion for open source and distributed systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or equivalent in Computer Science, STEM or similar degree.
Experience writing modern, maintainable Python.
Experience with Ceph storage.
Interest in two or more: Linux, Kubernetes, Public cloud, OpenStack, LXC/LXD, Python, Go, Debian packaging.
Outstanding academic track record and willingness to travel for internal events.

Responsibilities

Write high quality Python and Golang software.
Collaborate with a globally distributed team.
Debug issues and deliver quality code.
Document best practices for operators.
Develop and maintain software for Ceph delivery, operations and lifecycle management.
