CAI is seeking a Software Developer Intern to support the development and maintenance of software applications. You will gain hands-on experience writing and debugging code, learning from real‑world projects, and building valuable technical skills.

The internship runs June 7, 2027 through August 6, 2027, is fully remote, and requires 40 hours per week. Core hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET. All work must be performed in the United States; sponsorship is not offered.

Formación

• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Development, Engineering, Geography/GIS, or a related field
• Current Junior with a 3.5 GPA or higher
• Analytical mindset
• Experience with various programming languages
• Strong problem-solving abilities
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Proficiency in object-oriented programming techniques
• Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Experience with relational databases
• Ability to write technical documentation in a clear and concise manner
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications
• Experience with programming languages such as Java, .NET, or Python

Responsabilidades

• Develop, create, and modify general computer applications software or specialized utility programs of low complexity
• Analyze user needs and develop software solutions
• Design software or customize software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency
• Code and modify applications from layout to function
• Develop new features, enhance, support, and maintain existing applications
• Debug identified issues and provide solutions
• Develop and support systems, solutions, components, and enhancements of low complexity
• Code new functionality according to specifications
• Write testable, efficient code using software development best practices
• Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures and strategies
• Assist in the development of documentation
• Collaborate with others to determine design specifications and details
