Job summary

Computer Aid, Inc. (CAI) is seeking a Software Developer Intern for a fully remote summer internship from June 7, 2027, to August 6, 2027. The role runs 40 hours per week and requires availability during 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

ET. The internship does not offer sponsorship and work must be performed in the United States. Responsibilities include coding, debugging, and learning from real-world projects while expanding technical skills.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Development, Engineering, Geography/GIS, or a related field.
• Current Junior with a 3.5 GPA or higher.
• Analytical mindset.
• Experience with various programming languages.
• Strong problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in object-oriented programming techniques.
• Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Experience with relational databases.
• Ability to write technical documentation in a clear and concise manner.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop, create, and modify general computer applications software or specialized utility programs of low complexity.
• Analyze user needs and develop software solutions.
• Design software or customize software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency.
• Code and modify applications from layout to function.
• Develop new features, enhance, support, and maintain existing applications.
• Debug identified issues and provide solutions.
• Develop and support systems, solutions, components, and enhancements of low complexity.
• Code new functionality according to specifications.
• Write testable, efficient code using software development best practices.
• Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures and strategies.
• Assist in the development of documentation.
• Collaborate with others to determine design specifications and details.
