Job summary

The Walt Disney Company is seeking a Software Data Engineer to join the Performance Marketing arm of its Enterprise Media and Marketing team. You will build and maintain end-to-end data pipelines, develop data tooling, and implement safeguards to support data-driven paid media optimization.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
3+ years designing and delivering backend architectures in a production environment.
Strong judgment on the practical use of AI/LLMs in software development, avoiding hype.
Experience with Spark and SQL; ability to build simple, maintainable data pipelines on scaled data platforms.

Responsibilities

Contribute to development of the Performance Marketing tools suite.
Lead data engineering, data modeling, and architectural standards; ensure rigor for pipeline development and observability.
Design, implement, and operate end-to-end data pipelines across source to end consumer.
Collaborate with media and marketing experts to move prototypes to production-ready pipelines.
Implement quality controls and safeguards for accurate and safe optimizations with reliable metrics.
