Job summary

Cabarrus County seeks a Social Worker to conduct protective, investigative and case management work for at-risk children. You would assess needs, engage families, and formulate safety plans while coordinating services with community partners.

The role involves court testimony and possible after-hours work; experience in NC child welfare is preferred and ongoing professional collaboration is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work required.
• One year of social work experience or qualifying internship.
• Master’s in Social Work preferred.
• Bachelor’s in related Human Services with 2 years of social work experience.
• Master Degree in related Human Services with 1 year of experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide protective, investigative and case management services for at-risk children.
• Investigate and substantiate alleged neglect and abuse; prepare court summaries.
• Develop service plans and follow up with referrals and preventive services.
• Engage families and community partners in safety planning.
• Attend case conferences with legal and court personnel.
• Travel to homes, schools and service agencies as required.
