Job summary

The Office of Evaluation and Inspections within the Office of Inspector General, Department of Health and Human Services, Kansas City, MO, offers a Student Trainee Social Science Analyst internship. Proficiency in researching laws and regulations, GAO reports, and program evaluation methods.
Ability to gather narrative and statistical information using standard methods and tools.
Develop data driven findings and recommendations for program evaluations.

Responsibilities

Assist in identifying inspection assignments related to Medicare, Medicaid, and public health programs.
Conduct pre-inspection research and study related regulations and reports.
Engage in research, evaluation, and analysis to gain program knowledge and inspection experience.
Gather and organize narrative and statistical information using established methods and software.
Assist in developing findings and prepare statistical tables and reports for program evaluations.
Analyze program effectiveness to identify vulnerabilities and potential waste, fraud, and abuse.
Participate in discussions with agency officials to secure information and present conclusions.
